DAY 1: CUSCO – LARES THERMAL BATH – WACAWUASI (L, D) Early at morning, we will begin the tour, with your pick up with direction to Calca, crossing Sacred Valley. After a few hours, we will arrive to Lares town, where we will visit the thermal and medicinal baths. Finishing the morning experience until the lunch, then, we will begin with our trek (approx. 2 hrs. with 30 min.) with direction to Wacawasi (first camp). Overnight, Driving distance: Cusco to Calca: 31.6 miles (51 km) paved road Calca to Lares: 26 miles (42 km) dirt road Approximate bus journey time: 3 hours Total trekking distance (thermal baths to Wacawasi): 3.9 miles / 6.3 km Approximate Walking Time: 3 hours Maximum Altitude: 10,775 ft / 3285 m DAY 2: WACAWASI – LAGO IPSAYCOCHA (B, L, D) After the breakfast we will continue with our Trek and will see the highest abilities of the people with respect to tissues and dressmaking; after that, we will continue ascending until the Condor high pass (4100 m.s.n.m. or 13451 feet). Since this place we will have the amazing view of famous snowcapped mountain of Veronica or Wakayhuillca (5750 m.s.n.m. or 18865 feet). Later on, we will descend by the average of an hour to last camp that is located in beautiful Ipsaycocha Lake. Total Trekking Distance (Wacawasi – Ipsayqocha): 5.6 miles / 9 km Approximate Walking Time: 5 hours Maximum Altitude: 14,248 ft / 4347 m (Ipsayqocha) DAY 3: LAGO IPSAYCOCHA – PATACANCHA – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES (B, L, D) On this day we will get to viewpoint that will give us an amazing view of the valley for reach to Huylloc, where we will lunch. Then, we will continue by the average of a two hours for to reach Pumamarka and enjoy the Inca terraces, finishing the route in Ollantaytambo. Later on, we will take the train with direction to Aguas Calientes and spend the night in your reserved hotel. Approximate Walking Time: 3 hours Driving distance: Patacancha to Ollantaytambo 17 miles: (28 km) dirt road (1 hour) Maximum Altitude: 14,248 ft / 4347 m (Ipsayqocha) Driving distance: Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu 34 miles (55 km) by train (2 hours) DAY 4: VISIT MACHUPICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO - CUSCO (B) We will begin the tour to Machu Picchu very early and after the breakfast. We will take the bus for entrance and sting our ticket in the entrance to begin our expedition by the average of a two hours and a half, into the Machu Picchu citadel. Then, you will have free time to explore the amazing Inca city by your account, visiting the Huayna Picchu. Finally, we will end this day, returning by train to Ollantaytambo and after that we will take the bus with direction to Cusco.
