CHINCHERO – MARAS MORAY - SALINERAS

CHINCHERO, Located at 3754 meters above sea level. 28 kilometers from Cuzco, in the province of Urubamba, department of Cuzco, and before reaching the Sacred Valley of the Incas (and the Urubamba River), you will find the interesting village of Chinchero. The Sunday market, which originally was dominated by the exchange of goods between the inhabitants of the area is now a tourist attraction by offering their crafts and Inca textiles manufactured in pre-Columbian style. The important Inca ruins of the town were excavated and restored by the Spanish Archaeological Mission between 1968 and 1970

 

MORAY, Located 62 km from Cusco and 7 km west of Maras. It is at an altitude of 3500 meters, discovered in 1932, Moray presents enigmatic for whom visit this area, impressive circular terraces which seem gigantic fingerprints, suggests a gigantic agricultural laboratory, although many interpretations are on the side of astronomic observatory or mainly sense worship
